We express ourselves through a diverse yet coherent range of art and design. Our skills lie in combining traditional techniques with the opportunities afforded by new processes. It is this freedom of thought that allows us to create work that is truly unique.

Our inspiration

We are Steve and Louise Hughes of Deepdale Design. Our Inspiration comes from many sources, but our passion is driven by the beauty of the Cumbrian landscape.  It is the diverse richness of the lakes and mountains, with stunning colour palettes and rugged detail, that fuels our creativity. Additionally, we can’t fail to be influenced by our surroundings and the myth and legends of Robin Hood. Our leather work harks back to a bygone age, capturing the natural beauty and earthy reality of Sherwood Forest.

What we do

Our sculptural work in wood and metal embraces flowing formwork showing effortless grace. Key to our work is the idea that something contemporary can still have a distinct feeling of ‘heritage’, therefore our work is able to sit comfortably in a wide range of situations.

We create both standard and limited edition prints, all being individually produced by hand on a specialist, high lustre fabric. The images have a beautiful vibrancy that brings them to life and really needs to be seen to be fully appreciated. We are able to create bespoke work, so please feel free to explore the possibilities.

Leather work

The latest addition to Deepdale Design’s portfolio is our traditionally hand crafted leather items. These are unique pieces of sculptural leather that have a beautiful warmth about them that is not easily reproducible in other mediums. They make beautiful and thoughtful gifts.
